Our Aims are to support local farmers and small business people who grow, make or bake their product.
To expand the variety and quality of local produce and products to the Vancouver consumers
To help educate the buying public on how their food and other essential products are produced and used.
Our farmer’s must sell their own produce and are not allowed to buy in produce from another source.
Lonsdale Quay Farmer’s Market started on the East Plaza at the Quay in April of 2002. The location is perfect for a Farmer’s Market as it has trees which shade the vendors and a cool breeze coming off the water which is great for keeping the produce cool. The location is spectacular with a view of Vancouver and the cruise ships arriving and departing.
We have been lucky in having some of the best organic and conventional farmers in B.C. attend the market plus great bakers, jam makers, honey gathers, and salsa makers. The market has great diversity in vendors and a good collection of crafter’s who sell jewelry, children’s decals, pottery, soaps, kids clothing and much more. This market has a book exchange, newspaper reading area, and live music.
