I am serving my first term on City Council.
I moved to Vancouver in 1993 to attend UBC and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Ag. Economics). After moving to North Vancouver in 2002, I completed UBC’s Sauder School of Business Real Estate Division Managing Broker licensing course and established a strata management brokerage which served nearly 300 homeowners.
I later joined the Real Estate Council of British Columbia, during which time I completed the NCIT Basic Investigator and Enforcement training on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation (Kentucky, USA). I investigated complaints and helped guide policy to protect the public with respect to rental and strata management services. I have solid expertise in budgeting and financial management, resolving disputes, understanding bylaws, and advocating on behalf of homeowners.
I currently provide contract support on a part-time basis to the Federation of Associations for Counselling Therapists in BC (FACTBC), which has a mandate to protect the public by working with the Provincial Government to regulate the counselling therapy profession by forming a College under BC’s Health Professions Act.
I am an active member in the community, including:
L’Arche Greater Vancouver – Director, Operations Board (offers homes and day programs for people, with and without disabilities, sharing life together)
Ridgeway Elementary School – PAC Fun Lunch Program Assistant
St. Paul’s Catholic Indian Church – Youth Coordinator and occasional pianist and psalmist
St. Edmund’s Elementary – Former Member, Parish Education Committee
I live in the Central Lonsdale area with my husband and daughter.
