World Music Ensemble Workshop – CapU Community Music School

NEW World Music Ensemble! Players of all acoustic instruments are welcome to this “by ear” ensemble which explores world music through learning elements, improvising and creating original music, and working out effective group arrangements.
You’ll learn about the structure, performance practice, history and social context of different musical styles and develop ensemble playing skills. The classes are 90 minutes long and are targeted at older teens/adults.
Workshop instructor Hazel Fairbairn has a PhD in Ethnomusicology, performs internationally, and teaches contemporary and Celtic fiddle.
