The North Shore Mayors’ Golf Tournament is now in its 10th year. The tournament is endorsed by our three North Shore Mayors: Mayor Richard Walton, District of North Vancouver; Mayor Michael Smith, West Vancouver; and Mayor Darrell Mussatto, City of North Vancouver.
The Tournament is managed by the North Shore Community Foundation and the West Vancouver Foundation and a group of dedicated volunteers. The strong support of our sponsors has made the event a great success. Our accomplishments are made possible through the collaboration of our Mayors, the business community, and the two North Shore Community Foundations. In nine years, this tournament has raised a over $1,100,000, with $422,500 going directly to community projects; and $512,500 deposited in the Mayors’ Community Trust Funds of the two community foundations. These are permanent trust funds, and income generated supports high priority social services projects on the North Shore, over the long term.
In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the North Shore Mayors’ Golf Tournament, as well as Canada’s 150th birthday, the committee increased beneficiary funding of $50,000 and this year two beneficiaries will each receive $35,000. Quest Food Exchange and Turning Point Recovery Society have both been selected as designated charities for 2017.
