Bard on the Beach is Back for 2026!
Vancouver’s favorite summer tradition returns to Vanier Park. This year’s lineup is a spectacular mix of comedy, tragedy, and myth, bringing fresh and bold perspectives to timeless classics.
On the BMO Mainstage, you can catch Rebecca Northan’s The Merry Wives of Windsor—a high-energy, music-filled comedy set in a soccer-obsessed suburb—running in repertory with Stephen Drover’s dark, gripping, and bloody production of Macbeth.
Meanwhile, the Douglas Campbell Theatre hosts the return of the smash-hit Goblin:Oedipus, a riotous and irreverent spin on Greek tragedy created by Rebecca Northan, Bruce Horak, and Ellis Lalonde. Sharing the stage is Antigone, adapted by Kate Besworth and directed by Ming Hudson, which delivers a raw, urgent, and modern take on a classic tale.
