In 2022, lifelong friends Nico Rhodes and Patrick Courtin realized the piano was losing its cultural spotlight. Determined to restore the instrument to its former glory, they created Piano Heist: Keys are the Champions!
Drawing from three centuries of music, the show spans everything from classical masterworks and lively boogie-woogie to romantic ballads and full-throttle 80s synth battles. More than just a concert, the production blends theatrical flair, comedy, audience participation, storytelling, and music history.
Rhodes and Courtin have brought Piano Heist to both small towns and major cities, racking up over 140 performances across Canada and the Western United States. Looking ahead, the duo will debut a brand-new holiday show: A Very Merry Heistmas!
