Olga Zakharova & Julie Emerson at the District Foyer Gallery

North Vancouver Community Arts Council presents

District Foyer Gallery
North Vancouver District Hall, 355 West Queens Road

Sept 19 – Nov 13, 2012

Opening Reception: Thursday, Sept 20, 6:30 – 8:30pm

Olga Zakharova 2D: Nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Olga; the grandeur of trees, ancient trunks, obscurely twisted roots and stems, and the play of light and shade all influence her oil on canvas paintings. Originally from the Ukraine and a graduate of the National Academy of Fine Arts, she currently lives in Burnaby and works out of her private studio.

Julie Emerson 3D: Julie creates magical, lifelike silk sculptures that defy gravity, inspired by the preparation, politics and culture of food. These sculptures are constructed with wood, plastic, metal, and stone then covered with colourful silk. Julie’s sculpture and painting studio is in East Vancouver.
