About The Beach House at Dundarave Pier

beach house, martini, patio dining, seafood

After undergoing significant renovations to refresh and enhance this iconic West Vancouver restaurant, we re-open for business November 22nd. The reimagined Beach House will place a renewed focus on fresh seafood and will serve as a multi-purpose place to enjoy a casual lunch by the beach, celebrate a special occasion over dinner, or just sit, sip, and take in one of the best seaside views in West Vancouver.

The menu, created by Earls Culinary Development Chefs David Wong and Hamid Salimian, has been completely revamped from top to bottom, and takes inspiration from the West Coast with a focus on seafood towers, fresh oysters and a seasonal rotation of dishes including Monkfish with a white wine mustard sauce, Grilled Octopus, Prawn and Scallop Spaghettini and a Chorizo Mussel Pot. In addition to a daily Happy Hour from 3:00-5:30pm and 9:00pm-close, the menu will also include Daily Rituals including ½ price bottles of wine on Wine Wednesdays and Seafood Sunday with seafood towers offered at a discounted price. Additionally, the brunch menu has been completely reimagined and includes speciality items such as Smoked Salmon Rosti and Nutella French Toast offered on Saturday and Sundays from 10:00am-2:00pm.

The wine menu, curated by Sommelier David Stansfield, was designed with West Vancouver in mind with over 101 wine offerings including a Reserve Menu which highlights a selection of world-famous bottles that pair perfectly with the seafood-focused menu. Beverage Director Cameron Bogue has designed a tableside martini program, with nine different martinis as well as a caesar section with three premium options including an East Coast Caesar with lobster tail and a West Coast Caesar with kusshi oyster. In addition, the menu will have a classic cocktail section using premium spirits.

The Beach House’s rich history, heritage and longstanding presence in the West Vancouver community has not been lost throughout this renovation as it launches with an impressive redesign of the waterfront heritage building lead by Earls Designer Kimberley Hume. The open and airy design takes advantage of the stunning seaside views just steps away. While still keeping the integrity of the heritage building, the new design pays homage to The Beach House’s history by preserving the essence of what people have come to love. Pulling inspiration from the original Edwardian architecture, the design features a mix of new and old accents such as vintage photography, eclectic antiques and a vibrant collection of art by local BC artists. Some of the featured artists include West Vancouver’s Gordon Smith, Musqueam Coast Salish artist Susan Point as well as works in collaboration with the West Vancouver Art Museum, North Van Arts, and the Silk Purse Arts Centre.

The bar area has been redesigned to give guests views of the entire restaurant and of the water. The lower dining area will remain intimate with comfortable booths, mid-level lighting and outstanding views from every seat. The main floor patio will offer a timber pergola structure and retractable awning to provide sun and rain coverage for guests most months of the year, while improved furniture and seating layouts take full advantage of the waterfront views.

Renovations also include a new building extension added to the upstairs space. The event space at Beach House, The Landing, will offer an impressive private space for personal (weddings, birthdays, etc.) and business use with new furniture and lighting.

The Beach House looks forward to welcoming guests and extending the legacy of this great seaside dining and cocktail favourite.
