Travel through the silver screen into the world of classic horror movies! Take your velvet seat on the Halloween Ghost Train and journey back to a time when moving pictures unearthed the shadows that lay sleeping in the dark recesses of our minds.

Awake Dracula! Awake Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Phantom of the Opera. Crawl out from your coffins, slither from your slabs, and ooze out from your tombs! These October nights summon you from darkness.

Miniature Train hours of operation
•Friday, October 11 – Saturday, November 2, 2013
•Closed Thanksgiving Monday, October 14

Afternoon matinees
•Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 11:00am – 6:00pm (train only)

Nights
•6:00pm – 10:00 pm seven days a week (closed Thanksgiving Monday)

NOTE: The train is covered so riders are protected from rain. However, everyone should dress warmly for the cold autumn nights.

Buying tickets – on sale September 3

You must buy a ticket to ride the train. Your ticket is valid for one Ghost Train ride and other attractions in the plaza.

Train tickets are sold in half-hour time slots. Several trains will depart within each time slot.

Avoid the crowds and come out Monday to Thursday in the first two weeks.

Ways to buy tickets

There are two ways to purchase tickets for Ghost Train:
•On-site, starting at 3:00pm every day at the Miniature Train ticket booth; matinee sales from 11:00 am to 3:00pm, day of
•Through Ticketmaster (service charges apply): by phone at 1-855-985-5000; in person at any Ticketmaster outlet and online at www.ticketmaster.ca.

Same day tickets for sale at 3:00pm

From 3:00pm on the day of your train ride, you can purchase tickets at the ticket booth in the Stanley Park Train Plaza. You can buy same-day tickets only.

At least half of the tickets for each night are reserved for on-site purchase, so even if Ticketmaster is sold out for that day, there will still be tickets for sale on-site. However, since this event is so popular, tickets for the day can sell out quickly. Come early!

Get your tickets early through Ticketmaster

Ghost Train is an annual event in Stanley Park and it’s extremely popular. Buy your tickets in advance to make sure you get on the train when you want.

You can buy tickets in advance (up to 9:00am the day of the event) for all Ghost Train rides, except:
•Sundays – Ticketmaster cuts sales off at 9:00am on the Saturday prior

Tip: If you’re trying to buy tickets online and all the times you check are sold out, phone Ticketmaster. Agents can let you know what dates and times still have tickets available.

Children and youth ages 3-17 $7
Children under 3 yrs Free
Seniors (65+) $7
Matinee (train only – all ages) $5.50

Would you like to bring a larger group to the Stanley Park Ghost Train? Advanced reservations can be done at www.ticketmaster.ca

NOTE: Group bookings are available on limited dates only, and must be confirmed prior to October 9.

Accessibility

The entire site is wheelchair accessible, and the train has a specially designed carriage that accommodates up to two wheelchairs with seating for companions. Staff will help passengers in need of assistance board the train.

Snacks and Ghost Train dinner packages

Purchase snacks, hot and cold drinks and light meals at the Railway Café concession stand or buy hot buttered popcorn from the Stanley Park Ecology Society’s Cob House in the plaza.

For a more substantial meal, take advantage of Old Spaghetti Factory’s Ghost Train dinner packages. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster. Call the Spaghetti Factory and make reservations in advance.

Pumpkins and more

Pumpkin carving nights take place Oct. 15 & Oct. 22 starting at 6:00pm. The first 50 families who sign in at the pumpkin carving tent can carve a jack o’lantern to take home.

Wear your Halloween costume Oct. 29 and the Ghost Train team will award prizes in 4 age categories. Judging criteria: originality, personality & overall costume design. Judging begins at 7:00pm in the activities tent.

The pumpkin patch is open during all hours of operation. Pick up a pumpkin for $5 to take home and carve.

Learn about the night creatures of Stanley Park with hands-on activities by Stanley Park Ecology Society.

Lantern-lit wildlife walks from Thurs-Sun 6:00-9:30pm for an additional fee.

Directions to the Ghost Train

Public transit:
•Ride the “19 Stanley Park” bus

Bike or walk:
•Enter Stanley Park on W Georgia St
•Go north along Pipeline Rd
•Follow signs for Miniature Railway

Drive:
•Enter Stanley Park on W Georgia St
•Turn right at the roundabout on to Stanley Park Dr
•Find pay parking at the Info Booth, Yacht Club, Totem Poles, Brockton Point, or Beaver Lake lots
•Take the free shuttle trolley to the Ghost Train

Free shuttle trolley

It’s easy to get to the Ghost Train without the hassle of busy parking lots.

Simply park in one of the five designated parking lots on the east side of Stanley Park and ride the free trolley.

Running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30pm – 10:30pm, the free shuttle runs every twenty minutes.
