My name is Ash Amlani, I’m excited to be running for Mayor of the District of North Vancouver with Building Bridges. I am a 15 year resident of North Vancouver and am deeply passionate about our community. I’m running because I believe we need new leadership. Our problems relating to traffic and housing affordability will not be solved by voting for more of the same.
Throughout my career, I have achieved real results through public policy. My work experience has given me the opportunities to work with community members, businesses, non-governmental organizations and all three levels of government.
I currently serve on the District’s Community Services Advisory Committee and have held senior public service roles in both the Provincial and Federal Government.
During my time working with the Ministry of Fisheries and Oceans, I held a key role in the development and rollout of the $1.5 billion Oceans Protection Plan. As Chair of the Take Home Naloxone Advisory Board for the BC Centre for Disease Control, I led the widespread expansion of the life-saving Take Home Naloxone (THN) program to prevent opioid overdose deaths.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health degree from the University of Washington’s Community Oriented Public Health Practice program. I also hold a Bachelor of Science honors degree in Biotechnology from the University of British Columbia and BC Institute of Technology.
I, and the entire Building Bridges Team hope to earn your support on October 20th.
