The Girls Empowerment Camp will take the form of an awareness-raising peer group focusing on healthy friendships, body image and self-esteem for teen girls going into grades 9 and10. The primary goal of the project is to empower teen girls to take action toward increasing their confidence and personal safety as well as that of other girls in their schools and larger communities.
Two groups are available
Group 1; Monday to Friday from August 10th- 14th from 10:30am-4:00pm each day.
Group 2; Monday to Friday from August 17th- 21st from 10:30am-4:00pm
Each day the groups will be led by trained youth facilitators and will include topics such as: self-esteem, body image, boundary setting in relationships, violence prevention, self-defense, assertiveness, cyber-bullying and leadership skills.
