Lunar New Year starts February 19th! Come celebrate the Year of the Sheep in the Chinese Zodiac at the Market starting Thursday, February 19th at 2:15pm. Lion Dancers will bless the Market for the New Year by performing a traditional lion dance. The ceremony is meant to scare away evil spirits and summon good luck and fortune for the new year by performing cai ching, or the ‘plucking of the greens.’
Celebrations continue on Sunday, February 22nd with a traditional Chinese Fan dancing performance and a Lucky Red Envelope giveaway given to random visitors watching the performance.
