The North Vancouver City Fire Department (NVCFD) is committed to protecting life, property, and the environment. With 54 dedicated members to serve the City’s 53,000 citizens, we work to ensure the safety of all who work and live in the community.
The North Vancouver City Fire Department has a proud history of serving our community and is committed to providing the highest level of fire related emergency services to protect the life and property of City residents. The men and women of NVCFD are highly skilled and trained in many firefighting disciplines including high-angle rescue, First Medical Responder, hazmat, auto extrication, and fire behaviour. With well-trained firefighters and leading-edge equipment, we are committed to providing the highest levels of service possible.
Staff participate in numerous community events throughout the year including Canada Day and Remembrance Day parades, the Hot Summer Nights program, and the many public education services that NVCFD offers. Fire Prevention staff are entrenched in the community, delivering public safety messages to all ages from preschoolers to seniors, conducting fire extinguisher training courses and hall tours for school-aged groups.
NVCFD firefighters also volunteer countless hours in the community, raising awareness and funds for Burn Awareness Week, Fire Prevention Week, and the North Vancouver City Firefighters Scholarship Fund.
