Who Are We?
UNDRESS is a Community Charity Fashion Show in North Vancouver that supports two well-known women’s empowerment organizations: “YES!” and “Dress For Success Vancouver”.
Our Charity organization, UNDRESS, is made up of family members, friends and community volunteers who are committed to providing women with the confidence they need to start a professional career to support themselves and their families. All of our charitable donations (clothing and cash donations) will go to Dress for Success Vancouver. Together, we will provide women with a wardrobe of dresses; suitable for the work force they hope to be hired into.
Our promise is that 100% of the proceeds from UNDRESS, including cash donations and dresses donated, will go to “Dress for Success Vancouver”.
How Are We Unique?
We are unique because we understand that it takes the collaborative effort of women in the community to make a difference for all women. Starting in North Vancouver, we will provide the fun atmosphere for our community members to want to make this difference. If each woman donates one dress from her closet, we can make a profound difference together.
We will have a number of bands from the community displaying their talent, a large community board for supporters to write an inspiring message, and a runway for ANYONE in the community to display their dress that they will donate. The catch? At the end of the runway, you will say YES! to UNDRESS by donating the dress you are wearing. Do not worry, for those of you who are not as extroverted, we will have a large bin for you to place your donated dresses.
Aside from the talented bands and our generous community runway models, we will have hairstylists and make-up artists on the scene to give you a free up-do and touch up before you walk the runway. We will also have tents set up with community shops, donated accessories, clothing and discounted items (with a portion of the proceeds going to charity).
Who Should Come?
We welcome everyone throughout Vancouver to join us in supporting low-income women. Let’s work together as a community and make an impact! Come join us at The ShipBuilders’ Square on September 6th from 12pm-2pm to have some fun, show our generosity and come together as a community to make a difference!
