Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Re-Design

This brand new summer program explores environmentalism through art! Exploring topics like recycling, children ages 5-8 will learn to express their ideas through art by creating pieces like bottle cap magnets and juice-box journals. Taking these topics one step further, children ages 9-12 will look at ideas related to communication and e-waste. Participants will be challenged to work with wasted electronics like CDs and computer keyboards to create new functional pieces of recycled art.

Urban Scrapbook

The history of Lower Lonsdale is richer than you think! In this program, children will get out of the house and participate in a fun, three day exploration of their City. Touring heritage buildings, children will plot their creative observations of our City’s built heritage. They will learn to look closely at the structures that tell their community’s story. A shipbuilder’s shop, a train station, a bank and an old-time theatre will inspire a multi-media map featuring photographs, drawings, stories, and models. Students will produce an Urban Scrapbook and skits of their adventures!
