ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
We’re thrilled to welcome one of our favourite jazz guitarists, Bill Frisell for a special artist-in-residence program this fall. Frisell will work directly with Capilano University’s own jazz faculty member, Brad Turner in this debut collaboration of two modern masters culminating in a grand finale on our stage. There seems to be no end to guitar virtuoso Frisell’s innovative, imaginative and boundary-pushing yet still accessible approach to jazz, making him one of the most respected and influential jazz guitarists of his time. Combine this with Turner’s phenomenal talents as a trumpeter, pianist, drummer and composer and one of Canada’s most in-demand musicians and you have one sure-to-be adventurous and entertaining night of jazz.
