Three-time Juno nominee Elizabeth Shepherd is one of the reigning voices in Canadian jazz today. Her explorations are as successful as they are unexpected from collaborations with a Japanese DJ and a Canadian poet to an Afrobeat producer.
She writes songs about everything from feminism to homelessness to the darkness of heartbreak. Shepherd shines in a spare and compelling sound that can’t help but lock into listeners, leaving the audience transformed. Her voice and style recall Feist and Diana Krall but she is something new and fresh and entirely her own.
