OPENING RECEPTION | Thursday, February 9, 7-9pm
Contemporary Printmakers Mariko Ando, Elisabeth Sommerville and Richard Tetrault demonstrate the artistry, processes and techniques of printmaking.
Many art buyers are understandably confused about the difference between an original print and a reproduction. Master painters like Rembrandt, Degas and Picasso made original prints.
The purpose of this exhibition is to expain the methods used by these traditional artists as practiced today by three contemporary artist/printmakers. We hope this will clarify for collectors who may buy what they think is an original work of art, but is really nothing but a copy.
Participating artists: Mariko Ando, Elisabeth Sommerville, Richard Tetrault.
Artist Demonstration | Saturday, March 4, 12-4pm
~North Shore Art Crawl Weekend~
Join Mariko, Elisabeth and Richard as they demonstrate their diverse methods of printmaking! Explore and ask questions about different methods or matrices — that’s the material like stone, wood, lino or metal used to make the print! You will be absolutely amazed at the diversity and artistry in printmaking.
