Sutherland Secondary School will host its annual public performance of one of the most highly rated of all Japanese High School Wind Orchestras. This year, the Asahikawa High School Wind Orchestra will make it’s sixth visit to North Vancouver and perform a free public concert at Centennial Theatre on Sunday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m.
This concert is the latest in a series of free concerts performed by top-rated Japanese high school wind orchestras as part of a music education connection between the North Vancouver School District music programs in general and those of Sutherland Secondary School in particular. This is the 17th year of this initiative and the free public concerts have developed a strong following within the community.
For those who have been attending these annual concerts, you will not want to miss this performance. For those who have not yet experienced the amazing skill of these musicians you will find that you are amazed at what you are experiencing and will go home thrilled with what you have seen and heard!
The concert is suitable for people of all ages and most certainly suitable for families … particularly family with children who are learning to play an instrument. There is no admission charge and everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
