CITY OF NORTH VANCOUVER ANNOUNCES THE RETURN OF “CONCERTS IN THE SQUARE”

North Vancouver, B.C. – The City of North Vancouver is pleased to announce the second annual concert series entitled “Concerts in the Square” will return to Shipbuilders’ Square at the Shipyards, located beside Lonsdale Quay along the city’s waterfront. Performers and fine artists interested in participating are invited to contact Concerts in the Square producer, John Donnelly & Associates, at info@donnellyevents.com or by visiting www.facebook.com/ConcertsInTheSquare.

The weekly series begins on Saturday August 4, 2012 from 4 pm to 10 pm and will continue each Saturday throughout August. An additional special event is being planned for Sunday August 26. This afternoon concert will be programmed for seniors in the community as a Strawberry Tea with entertainment and dancing.

This innovative concert series was a popular success in 2011, and featured renowned performers such as John Mann, Jim Byrnes and Dustin Bentall. The 2012 series at Shipbuilders’ Square will again feature contemporary recording artists, cultural performers as well as a display of original fine arts and various works produced by local artisans.

An additional on–site feature “Art on the Pier” will promote fine artists, artisans, vendors and exhibitors located along the waterfront and pier to showcase their art, jewelry, merchandise and crafts. “Art on the Pier” will provide an opportunity for local painters and artisans to present their work in a festival environment.

Upcoming concert dates are August 4, 11, 18, 25, and 26, 2012.

Performers and fine artist who are interested in participating in the “Concerts in the Square” series are invited to contact John Donnelly & Associates:
