This wry and charming one-man play explores the inner dialogue of a “50 something” couch potato trying to make something more of himself. Caught between his voice of comfort and his voice of truth, he asks himself the big questions: Can he find love, and still get home in time for his favorite TV shows? Should he spend his money on cigarettes — or that copy of Soulful Sex at the alternative bookstore? As he proceeds on his plodding but highly amusing journey, hazarding relationship counseling with his girlfriend, Cheryl, and coming face-to-face with his deepest fears at a men’s retreat, our very ordinary “hero” discovers his true — and not-so-ordinary — self.
