The New Holiday Musical Tradition

Written by Bill Allman, Alan Marriott, & Kevin O’Brien – Directed & Choreographed by Jeff Hyslop

Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen is a fresh new holiday musical for the whole family. Feeling under- appreciated at the North Pole, Mrs. Claus discovers a magical recipe for drawing families together. There are elves, laughter, song and dance, and a chance for the audience to get “hands on” in the kitchen of the worlds most famous workshop! This family holiday musical will run from Dec. 11 – 15 at Presentation House 333 Chesterfield Avenue, North Vancouver with tickets available at Presentation House Box Office or call 604-990-3474.

Set on the cusp of the 1960s, when modern Christmas really came of age, the show takes the audience on a tuneful ride filled with charm, laughter and a fresh look at the hustle, bustle and real worth of a family holiday. This new work, written by Bill Allman, Alan Marriott, & Kevin O’Brien, is directed and choreographed by Vancouver’s own talented Jeff Hyslop.

Mrs. Claus, played by Elizabeth Bowen, bakes Christmas spirit. Aided by her trusty elves, the daffy Robin and the prankster Ruprecht, Mrs. Claus bakes and delivers cookies for her extended family at the North Pole. But after years of toiling in Santa’s generous shadow, Mrs. Claus wants some free time to reconnect with Santa. She turns to a big company who takes over her cookie production and sells them worldwide. Her cookies become a huge success! But upon taking a bite of the factory-made cookie, Mrs. Claus notices that something is missing. It is the magic of her kitchen that brings the audience together in a heartwarming finale.

You don’t want to miss this new family holiday tradition filled with Christmas spirit– great for families with children 5 years and up.
