Join artist Ron Simmer for a talk about recycle art and his practice of transforming materials from consumer culture into art.
Revel in the innovation and creation of art made by recycling materials. This exhibition focuses on the work of 17 artists who have found inspiration from industrial, consumer, found or everyday materials that are no longer desired, needed or can fulfill the original purpose. The art is made of at least 75% of materials re-purposed from its original use or intention. Some distinctive must-see pieces include: a dress made from plastic bags, a drill transformed into a roller-skating robot with a rocket dog, a roadster made out of a toaster and 8000 pennies that make up the portrait of the Queen.
