Vancouver Mural Festival is Western Canada’s largest free celebration of public art. Now, in its 5th year, Vancouver Mural Festival features an expanded 10-day program of events, from galleries, parties and public talks to artists painting new murals and daily guided tours.

What began as a few friends with a vision to empower artists and foster positive collaboration in Vancouver’s arts community has evolved into one of Canada’s premiere public art festivals.

Since 2016, VMF has produced over 150 murals | Featured 70% local artists, 45% female-identifying artists and 45% self-identified minorities | Produced 26 Indigenous artist murals | Trained and developed 80+ first-time muralists | Partnered with 50+ community groups | And helped shift perspectives around street art.

The festival culminates in the Vancouver Mural Festival’s main event, the highly-anticipated Mount Pleasant Street Party on Saturday, August 8th from 12-7pm. Spanning over 14 blocks in and around Main and Broadway, the Street Party transforms Mount Pleasant’s streets and laneways into a dynamic living art space, with free, all-ages, accessible attractions to bring the community together, including live music, beer gardens, skate jam, Family Zone, live art, markets, street dance battles, DJs, the debut of new murals (on top of the area’s 130+ existing murals) and much more.
