The most anticipated annual ballet spectacular on the North Shore! Showcasing must-see youth guest artists from abroad, and the students of the Vancouver Junior Professional Division, recently named 2014’s Most Outstanding School for the 3rd consecutive year at the Youth America Grand Prix.
Dancers from as young as 6 years, through to 13 year-old graduates on the brink of their senior training years, will present a mixed programme of celebrated classical exerpts, as well as award-winning original choreography.
The anticipated jewels of this year’s gala programme are the school’s original mounting of Frederick Ashton’s Sylvia Acts I & III, and VJPD’s inaugural presentation of George Balanchine’s Serenade. This prestigious repertoire will be undertaken by all junior VJPD female principal and corps de ballet dancers ages 6-13 years.
The VJPD Spring Gala rendezvous is an annual feast of high calibre ballet for performing arts enthusiasts, and a first-class evening of entertainment for the entire family that is not to be missed!
