The Ambleside Orchestra’s upcoming concert, conducted by Nicolas Krusek, features guitar soloist Fernando Aguirre performing Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez. The program also includes: In a Chinese Temple-Garden by Ketèlbey; Chopiniana Op. 46 by Glazunov; and Rossini’s William Tell Overture.
The Ambleside Orchestra is a growing, multigenerational community orchestra that brings music to the community in an accessible and affordable way. Ambleside’s musicians are all ages and come from all walks of life. The orchestra’s scholarships and awards program recognizes young members for their skills and contributions, and all members benefit from a mentorship partnership with the Vancouver Academy of Music (VAM). Several times per season, instructors from VAM’s distinguished faculty coach the orchestra’s string and wind sections.
