Based on Brahm Stoker’s infamous vampire Ballet Victoria brings a new twist to the story in this world premiere choreographed by Destrooper. The music of Elgar, L.V. Beethoven, A. Pärt, A. Piazzola, with a few more contemporary classics also include pop rock star Sia’s Chandelier and U2’s Songs of Innocence which blend seamlessly in this surreal ballet where love and life’s blood ties intertwine.
Dracula’s sensual mystique will permeate the choreography as well as some very audacious costume design.
With Ballet Victoria boasting a few more dancers this season including Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Jessie Gervais via Mexico’s National Ballet audiences will be treated to some very macho dancing. As for Dracula’s concubines, Ballet Victoria audiences will discover a whole new Secret!
