The Lower Lonsdale Business Association in conjunction with the City of North Vancouver invites you to celebrate the Annual Festival of Lights on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the NEW Ship Builders Square at the foot of Lonsdale Avenue from 5:00pm – 8:00pm

This year’s festival celebrates the grand opening of the NEW Shipbuilders Square and outdoor stage featuring an evening filled with great family entertainment, complimentary coffee, hot chocolate & Christmas cookies.

Stage entertainment gets underway at 5:00pm with performances by three of Vancouver’s up & coming musicians: Sheldon Witt, Danny Echo and Laurie Biagini performing songs from their newly released CD, “A Very Vancouver Christmas”. Taking the stage at 6:00pm is 2010 JUNO Award and Western Canadian Music Award winning family entertainer Norman Foote with his daughter Maria and closing out the evening at 7:00pm is the highly energetic Vancouver Outreach Community Sweet Soul Gospel Choir.

Mayor Mussatto will light the Christmas tree at the foot of Lonsdale Avenue at approximately 6:00pm and the big guy in the red suit will arrive around 6:45pm. Children are welcome to visit Santa at his workshop from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

The Square will be sparkling with Christmas lights and filled with family activities such as the ever popular bug lantern building workshop lead by the North Vancouver Museum & Archives. Stop by the North Vancouver Neighborhood House gingerbread decorating station and for a small donation your child can take home a decorated gingerbread man.

The Soroptimist Club will be selling their beautiful handmade Christmas wreaths to raise funds for charity. The evening celebration will wrap up with the annual Carol Ship Sail By at approximately 8:00pm.
