Mohsen Namjoo is an Iranian artist, songwriter, singer, music scholar and setar (traditional Persian lute) player based in New York City. Hailed as “the Bob Dylan of Iran” by the New York Times, Mohsen Namjoo blends the Classical Persian setar with electric guitar and drums.

Much of Mohsen Namjoo’s sound is inspired by Persian classical music and rock/blues, blending ‘tahrir’ vocal techniques with rock/blues’ screams and shouts, all mixed with his own satirical interpretation of music and society.

He has been touring North America for the last 6 years after arriving in US from Iran. His latest CD “Trust the Tangerine Peel” was released in 2014 and his new album is due in summer of 2016.
