Outdoor pianos in North Vancouver’s Civic Plaza and Parkgate Community Centre Plaza invite musicians of all ages and abilities to come outside and tickle the ivories!
Pianos on the Street, an initiative spearheaded by Pacey’s Pianos and the Piano Teachers Federation, places pianos in public places throughout Metro Vancouver for the enjoyment of all.
The two new North Vancouver pianos will be painted by local groups. Youth participating in the City of North Vancouver’s Studio in the City art program lead by artist Sierra Tasi Baker will transform the Civic Plaza piano, and at Parkgate, the piano will be painted by the My Parkgate Break group lead by artist Maureen Coles.
Please join Mayor Darrell Mussatto, the painting group, and musicians from the Piano Teachers Federation for the official unveiling of the Civic Plaza piano on Thursday, June 25th at 4pm. The Parkgate Plaza piano will be unveiled on July 10th with a special line up of guests and musical festivities.
