ROY FORBES
Both as “Bim” and eponymously, British Columbia folk legend Roy Forbes’ singing and songwriting has captivated audiences for more than four decades.

Dawson Creek-born Roy Forbes’ musical career took flight in early 1970s Vancouver. As ‘Bim’ – his childhood nickname – Forbes opened for Supertramp, Santana and Jeff Beck, garnering the spotlight for his emotive, quivering voice. The breakout single “Can’t Catch Me” launched him as a headliner and folk star. Performing as Roy Forbes since 1987, he’s continued to record, headline folk festivals and tour extensively, despite losing his sight – he was diagnosed legally blind two years ago. Forbes has also penned songs recorded by Sylvia Tyson, Garnet Rogers and Valdy, and hosted popular radio programs – CBC’s ‘Snap Crackle Pop’, and the ongoing ‘Roy’s Record Room’ on CKUA.com.

Tickets are $23-$25
